We take a further step in helping our eco-system by operating as a paperless office. With the use of innovative digital and modern technology, we are able to cut down on countless patient files through digital patient charting. Furthermore, we take extra precautions through the use of digital x-rays which yield 4 times less radiation with no harmful chemistry, compared to older x-rays that use more radiation and produce a lot of toxic chemical waste. Amalgam fillings include up to 50% of elemental mercury. Mercury causes serious environmental and human health concerns. Half of all mercury entering our local wastewater treatment facilities originates from dental offices! At DENTOLOGY, we treat patients with metal-free fillings and crowns, practicing mercury-free dentistry. If you have failed amalgam fillings and would like them safely removed, DENTOLOGY can be of service and remove them for you. I rarely write reviews for dentists or doctors but I wanted to share my great experience at DENTOLOGY with Dr. Andrews. I originally chose his office because it was very close to work, but I have found more than just an office in a convenient location. Not only does Dr. Andrews know his stuff about teeth but he was also able to explain  how tooth care relates to a persons health holistically. He went above and beyond to answer my questions (never felt rushed) and explain things in a way that was easy to understand. I also appreciate his concern for patient health - I have researched amalgam fillings and their negative effects and supposed toxicity on the human body. Other dentists encouraged me to use amalgam, where as Dr. Andrews is a supporter of composite fillings that i choose to go with. I have already recommended him to my boyfriend and friends. A++

Q:  Can I have all my amalgam fillings removed at DENTOLOGY?
A:  Patients that presents with fractured fillings, caries around amalgam, broken teeth around amalgam fillings, and loss of marginal adaptation are candidates for amalgam removal. 

Q: What documentation do I provide to have amalgams replaced that do not have any clinical dental indications for removal?
A: A referral letter from a medical professional (MD) is required.

Q:  Does DENTOLOGY offer any form of chemical allergy testing?
A:  We do not provide any testing at our locations. 

Q: How much does safe amalgam removal cost?
A: The cost for safe removal of amalgam is not covered by dental insurance and includes an additional $100 surcharge per tooth with a minimal charge of $250 that will not be covered by any plan. 

Q: What is the protocol for safe amalgam removal at DENTOLOGY?
A: We use several effective measures to prevent amalgam mercury vapors and amalgam particles getting inside the digestive system or being inhaled. Among those are:
  • High-power, high-volume air suction system as alternative to oxygen mask
  • Isolation of teeth with a rubber dam (membrane)
  • Covering exposed hair and skin with liquid tight barrier
